What are some good meals to make and eat as left overs?

Sunday, April 26th, 2009
Just Jess asked:

My boyfriend and I will be moving into a condo on the 9th of october. He tends to eat a lot of fastfood becuase hes not the greatest cook in the world..he doesnt like to cook at all!

I’d like to start making dinners at home so that the two of us can sit down and enjoy a nice meal together. I’m 21 years old and have grown up around a lot of people who enjoy cooking. I’m a decet cook myself once once I know the recipe - and as long as I’m comfortable with the ingredients.

I do work as well as attend full time college classes. Some nights I will not be home until 10pm! Most nights I will be home around 6:30-7ish.

I’d like to get into the habit of making something on the weekends that my boyfriend can just heat up throughout the week rather than doing fast food. This will also save me the trouble of cooking for myself at 10pm when I get out of school and am hungry for dinner.

I am comfortable with most vegetables, pastas, rice, chicken, and ground turkey (i prefer it over ground beef)…

Some recipies I have that stay nicely are Mexican Rice (A recipe my mom sourt of created, being a vegetarian she often tried comming up with new things)….
Baked ziti (with or without ground turkey added)
Chicken pot pie (home made)
Eggpant parm
Chicken noodle soup (home made)
Any other ideas??

Are any women gourmet cooks or is this a man thing?

“seriously, most men i know are really into cooking & are amazing chefs!! these guys are like Gordon Ramsey wanna-bes…I can follow a recipe- but its a far cry from anything gourmet!! LOL”

There are men who cook everything from brisket, steak, chicken cordon bleu, rack of lamb, chicken picatta, carbonara, homemade chicken noodle soup, stir fry, salmon steaks, halibut, fried fish, baked ziti, lamb chops, pork chops, potatoes au gratin, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, lasanga, to chocolate mousse, apple pie, creme brulee, tiramisu, homemade truffles, scones, cookies, cream puffs, fudge, brownies, cheesecake chocolate muffins to making cocktails, fresh bread, and fresh jams, and homemade cream cheese.

Are there any women who are into gourmet cooking? Can any women cook like this? Which gender is more likely to do this?

IF MEN DO THIS HOW COME ALL COOKING STUFF ONLINE IS POSTED BY WOMEN?

WOMEN get

-dinners when they get home
-cocktails made for men
-breakfast in bed
-lunch brought to work
-picnics with delicious food
-baked goods on dates

MEN NEVER GET THIS OR NOT AS OFTEN. HAS A MAN EVER BEEN MORE SPOILED IN A RELATIONSHIP?

Do

Many women believe things like

“I only pay once in awhile cuz he’s supposed to be the support system.”

“I have man who waits on me hand and foot and babies me”

“When dating, I don’t make a thing. You want food, take me out.”

Are there situations where its reveresed?

Are there relationships where the man doesn’t know how to cook and the woman is a gourmet/amazing cook/baker? Because I see the vice versa happening ALL the time.

What should I make for dinner tonight?

Monday, April 13th, 2009
??? ??? ??? asked:

I’m stuck! I can’t decide what to make my husband and I for dinner tonight.

Here is what we have had so far:
Saturday- BBQ Chicken Quesadillas
Sunday- BBQ Beef Crescents
Mon & Tues- Baked Ziti
Wednesday- Chicken Tenders and Rice

What in the world should I make?! I am still kind of new to cooking (a newlywed) so I am not like Paula Dean and cant make extravagant recipes, so simple yet creative would be nice.

We like pretty much all meats, although I am not a huge fan of red meat - I still eat it though in small amounts.

Also please give me recipes or directions to find a recipe for whatever you suggest, unless it is really simple!

Thanks! =)

I’d make this for the G-d of the Torah and David Bowie to split.:

appitizer: salad consisting of cucumbers red bell peppers, onions and tomato
soup: ramen
dinner: baked ziti with mozzarella cheese
Dessert: my brand new (as in I invented the recipe today,) apple pudding.
